Mythology
Represents Chiron, the wise centaur who tutored heroes like Achilles, Jason, and Asclepius. Wounded by Heracles' poisoned arrow, the immortal Chiron gave up his immortality to free Prometheus. Zeus placed him among the stars with his arrow aimed at Scorpius.
Astronomy
Points toward Sagittarius A*, our galaxy's supermassive black hole (4 million solar masses, 26,000 ly away). Home to the Lagoon (M8), Trifid (M20), and Omega (M17) nebulae. With 15 Messier objects, it has more than any other constellation.

How to Find It
The 'Teapot' asterism is unmistakable — eight stars forming a teapot with the Milky Way rising from its spout like steam. Best in summer evenings, low in the southern sky. Even binoculars reveal extraordinary star clouds, dark lanes, and glowing nebulae.
