Represents the Nemean Lion with an impenetrable golden hide — Heracles' first of Twelve Labors. Finding no weapon could pierce it, he stunned it with his club, then strangled it with bare hands. He wore its hide as armor for the rest of his labors.

The Leo Triplet (M65, M66, NGC 3628) is a group of interacting spiral galaxies 35 million ly away. Regulus spins so rapidly (every 15.9 hours vs the Sun's 25 days) that its equatorial diameter is 33% larger than its polar diameter.

How to Find It
One of the easiest zodiac constellations to identify. The Sickle forms the head and mane; a triangle to the east forms the hindquarters with Denebola at the tail. High in the sky during spring evenings, March through May.
